Thought you guys would appreciate this: www.cgnetworks.com/story.php?story_id=1901This is a few sketches from the current pre-production of the LIVE ACTION American version of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Notice how some of the names are changed around, but I hold hopes for this movie, since the company who did the LOTR graphics are taking over, and they're trying to get Peter Jackson to direct. Casting hasn't started yet. ALSO: I did some more research and I found out that they're doing a live action Battle Angel movie (Also may be known as Battle Angel Alita or Gunmu. It was origionally a manga, but an anime was made in the early 90's) as well. Its also in pre-production. They are going to CGI Alita (Gally) and the set, while keeping real actors for everyone else.... well, everyone who's human anyway. I wish I could send these people demands that they NEED kickass industrial to soundtrack these movies. One of the best AMV's I've ever seen was MDFMK's "RabbleRouser" to Eva.... Any thoughts?

They're also doing a Live action Aeon Flux, too. Charlise Theron is being casted as Aeon. As much as I like her, she's not where nearly qualified enough to play her part. Aeon is an anorexic contortionist. The shit she does makes Spiderman look stiff. Here's a link to it: movies.msn.com/movies/article.aspx?news=179178

WOW that does look pretty awsome. WETA Digital are capable of pulling an EVA movie off methinks. I tought their efforts on LoTR series can justify that. Also if they can get Peter Jackson in then it will only enhance the project. AS FOR BATTLE ANGEL. I am absolutely ripped for this film project, seeing as James Cameron is involved, (one of my favourite directors) I can't wait. He's using his own 3D camera technology and making it pure 3D with human actors involved like you said before Zero. He's actually waiting for cinemas to uprage their projectors to digital as it won't work otherwise (by Cameron's words). Although he said it will be finished around 2007. He is an ingenious bastard and I can't wait for this film, eye raping glory. By the way Zero. I take it your an anime fan? - Güügy

BORING!? NEON GENESIS!? wow ok man to each his own I guess. I honestly find that Neon Genesis is an absolute classic, no, I would go as far as to say that its one of the most classical pieces of media ever. I love the storyline, the mystery, its got so many twists you become dizzy. I also love the "angel" designs behind them, amazing. Anyways I'm rambling. I also love Battle Angel, one of my first viewings of anime. - Güügy

Yea, I was an obsessive fan in highschool. I kinda toned out when I got to college because a) I have no money and b) I couldn't find anything that I really got into. They keep repeating the same boring plots now-a-days. Currently the only anime/manga series I keep up with is Angel Sanctuary. It'll be good to see all these classics played out live, if they're done right. And I too would like to see Devilman played out live.... Think it would have an X-rating tho. America's not ready for it. Ask the Japanese.

Can't say I'm looking foward to a live action Eva, it's a project I consider pointless. Everyone who's like to want to see it will already have seen the series, and the story is too complex to fit into a single two hour film.

My exact thoughts. Which unless it turns out to be a trilogy, I can't see this film following the original storyline, or they'll "loosely" base it around the original storyline. >_<
