So Raymond has all sorts of old little projects that've fallen through the cracks, which no Pig fans seem to know about. Every once in awhile I discover a new one, which I've never heard any mention of online. Stuff like the Brain Drive remix, the 2-Kut video, The Megaton Men, etc now some people know about. But when I initially came across them a couple years back, I'd never seen mention of their existence before.
I recently tracked down an 80s band called Matador. They have a old single called "Stop! In The Name Of Love" (yes, it's a cover of that song). Anyway, there's a remix from Raymond on there. It's okay. Sounds kinda 2-Kut-ish... John Caffery and Alexander Hacke are also on that single.
I also have on order Buddy Electrick - I Sing The Body Electrick. Again, a Raymond remix on there. Around the same era (89/90).
From around the Sinsation era onward, it becomes much easier to keep track of his stuff, with the jumpstart of the internet and all. But since Ray's career has been so sprawling, he's been on about a billion things, and lots of it still unknown, even to me. I've yet to determine for sure if he ever appeared on any Abwarts releases. I don't think he did. I know he toured with them, and did the Rotting Sausage demo with a couple guys from that band. And Raymond said he had some very early (pre-Pig) band he did in Japan briefly. I'm not sure what that project was.
Unfortunally, many these projects can be almost impossible to establish info on, which I guess is why no Pig fans know about them. Try doing searches for info on some of the above mentioned things, and you'll see in most cases, the available info is almost nil. I know there's lots more out there I still don't know about. Definitely some more old German work out there. And I've gotta think with Ray's many years involved in Japanese labels, there's probably some song collaborations and/or compilation appearences no one knows about. But every once in awhile, I manage to discover another one.
Anyway, I thought some of the completionists out there might wanna know some of this stuff exists...
