Team Cybergeist is a collaborative music project founded by Angel Bartolotta, drummer for the band Dope (Koch Records/E1 Music).
With Team Cybergeist, Angel writes and records with many different musicians from all around the world. Members of Stone Sour, Morbid Angel, Fuel, Saliva, Kittie, Adema, Static-X, Rev Theory, Pigface, Dark New Day, Genitorturers, Godhead, PIG, Psyclon Nine, The Dreaming, Amen, KMFDM, and many others have all contributed to the project. Angel also brings in local musicians, giving them the opportunity to write and record with some of their favorite musicians. Platinum selling artists and local musicians, all performing together as one.
For live shows and events, Angel Bartolotta has put together a strong lineup of talented musicians to play the music of Team Cybergeist. The live band lineup sometimes changes, to keep in the collaborative nature of the project, as well as surprise special Thirsty Flies in different cities.
Team Cybergeist has recently been playing shows and touring in support of bands like Genitorturers, Jackal And Hyde, Sex Slaves, Slick Idiot, Deadstar Assembly, and Crossbreed. In April of 2010, Team Cybergeist was voted to play at 98 Rockfest in Tampa, Florida in support of Alice In Chains, Limp Bizkit, Puddle Of Mudd, Sevendust, Hellyeah, Evans Blue, Soil, Smile Empty Soul, and many others.
After 4 years of production, Angel wrapped up the new Team Cybergeist album "How To Destroy Something Beautiful". The 18 track CD was released in Japan (RB Records) on November 18, 2009. For it's first week on the shelves, it was #1 at the Tower Records listening stations (above Rammstein, Flyleaf, and Slayer)... On July 10, 2010, Team Cybergeist will independently release "How To Destroy Something Beautiful" in the United States. The USA edition is a 26 track double-disc featuring over 50 artists!
In a recent interview, Angel Bartolotta said, "In a music scene constrained by ruthless competition and heightened egoism, it is exciting to lead a project that unites a team of humble musicians from a diversity of backgrounds who willingly composed for the love of music. This album is a collaborative effort, meant to break down the hierarchical nature of the music industry. We all hope that you enjoy our collective expressions in the form of these songs."
