Okay, we need some non-drunk (or drunk and do) activities to do in D.C. Here are some ideas:
-Museums (there's a strip of them, many for free) -Monuments (also free, and photogenic. My personal favorite is the reflecting pool and that whole area) -Underground mall -More bar hopping.
Canotila has the most experience in the area, so I presume she has lots of places to map out.

Maybe there will be a decent band passing through the area that we can see while we're visiting.

Concerts are good. I'm still pissed that when I went to Vienna, Fear Factory had a concert hours before my arrival. So mad... Then again, I'm told they were horrible live... Still...

What sort of museums? I'd love to have a walk through the national gallery and the botanic gardens and the hundreds of buildings it seems the Smithsonian continually metastazises, and any lesser-known museums I'd love to check out. And Arlington Nat'l Cemetary also, just out of curiosity. Hmmm, any battlefields in the area or not too far out (I'm drawing a blank)? Also, just what does one have to do to tour the federal buildings that give tours? I'd love to do that! Sorry, just soo eager to tour DC since I've never done it NP

If my SO comes along, I'm going to see if I can pester him into detouring into Reston, VA, for a couple of hours, because I REALLY want to see the complex where Ebola Reston was "discovered" (anyone read The Hot Zone?). Gah, methinks I am too weird sometimes for my own good.

I'm literary-inept. Sorry. I understand geek-hood tho. If I got an opportunity to go into the same neighborhood that Sailor Moon is based off of, I would do it. Big time.

I'm sorry guys. I'm lurking but not up for planning at the moment. I friend of mine committed suicide Tuesday morning and aside from that inandof itself, it's kind of forcing me to relive all the others I've lost recently, including my best friend. Needless to say, I'm in no frame of mind to be planning big fun trips.
Give me a few days and I'll be more up to getting you a list together of stuff to do.

Damn any death is hard to deal with but I don't know that one. Don't worry about planning for the trip much until we're into 2009.
I'm pulling all the data together gradually.

October is a long ways away..... So don't worry about advice and such. I think the reason we all are doing heavy planning is because (like in the case of me, p0x and HP) have known each other for too many years without actually seeing each other in person. Hell, I've known HP and p0x longer than my own husband!
I expect this event to be a squee-fest and a support to those who still love the Lord of Lard.

I had a dream last night that we were all wandering around DC filming a fanvideo for snorts and giggles that was going to be mailed to Ray-Ray by whoever lost some sort of bet (can't remember more than that). You all already have me so excited about this trip that I'm DREAMING about it, for goodness's sake! NP

To what song will it be set? (Hell, get me drunk enough and I might attempt to sing something... probably Arbor Vitate because I enjoy its videos too much... although I'm not sure the sounds I make count as singing. Oooh, sudden flash of all of us, drunk and attempting to sing a Pig song!)

I was thinking "Flesh Fest" or.... "No one gets out of her alive".....
Something that would coincide all the inevitable nonsense that will indefinitely occur.
