Are you one, and if so, what series?
I haven't been up to date on the newer ones, but I'm curious to see what you guys are into.

i love anime! right now my fav series is s-cry-ed, beautifull animation, great story, and characters you really fall in love with. i have to give close seconds and thirds to Trigun, and full metal alchemist, they both rock just as hard. wolves rain rocks, full metal panic is alright, witch hunter robin is intresting, hellsing was allright, noir is cool, read or die is very fun, twelve kingdoms could be pretty good, but ive only seen like half of it... lets see... that new ghost in the hell series is pretty cool to, but again, only seen the first 5 episodes. ummmmmmmmmm i know im missing some. but hell, ive seen alot of anime, some good, some bad, some just rocks my socks off!

ah, I love it. I think my favorite is Rurouni Kenshin, or Bastard. REcently I've been watchin a lot of wolf's rain, not quite done yet. A huge Ghibli Fan. I love ghost in the shell. Haven't seen the series yet but I will soon enough. I love all the classics too. Here is a short movie i recomend 'the puppet princess'. It is incredibly unknowen and really fun. I saw it about a year or two ago, and haven't seen or heard of it since.
Every year i go to Sakura Con in seattle, lots of fun. watch lots of anime and spent too much money.

My fav. is (by far) Gundam Wing. You get your anti-war philosophy... and senseless explosions. All in one.

you know, sad as it is, i have never seen more that an eposode here, or an episode there of gundam wing. it looks cool, but the serries is so huge, i dont even know where to start! bragonball z is another one of the classics i never really got into, it was alright at first, but everything just got to crazy. it was just too much for me. altho i loved dragon ball! all this anime talk makes me wanna go to best buy! i hear the second dvd for the ghost in the shell series is out. oh, and the ghost in the shell series, it has a great sound track. and stampede, as for the puppet princess, do you know who licenced it in the us, or was it a fan sub?

The Tekken anime is one of the top 10 worst of all time. I love the game and hate the movie (even though the music is good ).

This is a response to a few posts before but I have no idea who has the rights to puppet princess, I found it at a small video store in seattle and it looked fun. and it was. it wasn't fan subbed, definitly out in america.
Speaking of anime, I just got done watching Samurai X the motion picture, but it was a really goofy version, I thought it was the fansub when i got it. but it was bad english voice acting, and bad subtitles(that didn't really go along with the dialogue). But it was a good movie, worth the watch, but probably only if you already like the series.

yea looks like the puppet princess was licensed by media blaster. another cool anime to check out would be spriggan, verrrry cool. this one license by ADV. oh, and if your into japanese film, check out versus, its also licensed by media blaster. i just picked it up the other day, and its awesome. i highly recomend it. another one to check out would be returner. that one isnt too hard to find cuz it was picked up by columbia tristar... you can rent this one at block buster. www.rareflix.com is a great source for hard to find movies.

I just watched Returner not too long ago. And I think i saw versus too. but i'm not too sure, I may have put it back for the crazy samurai zombie movie, or maybee it was that crazy samurai zombie movie, I don't really remember. Anyway Returner was a good movie. way for media blaster. They are probably my favorite company. With there anime and there japanese live action. And They have a division called rare flicks, where you can get really crappy awesome hard to find movies. I just got done watching 'The new Barbarians' Which is a ridiculously crappy early eighties low budget Brittish Road Warrior Rip off. But it was totally sweat. Anyway, it is like 2 am I should probably go to bed. night

Versus was a crazy zombie/modern day samurai film. It's not an anime though, but still, it was great.
The bit at the end with the laser sight on the sword was pure genius.

ya, ok. i think i remember versus. The opening is a samurai sliceing up zombies then it goes to modern day where the two inmates and those other people fight the zombies. it's a sweat movie.

In this thread an add for Baki The Grappler appears above. I saw the first episode and its fairly bad... It helped me to realize that most Anime characters look like they've been on steroids for sure!

There's a lot of bad anime out there that people love... It's all stereotypical and rehashed ideas... Like GunGrave. That was TERRIBLE.

That defeats the whole purpose... I mean, I have little interest in reading something that's based on reality. Mine's enough of a bitch to deal with. I like things with a little bizarre twist.

Not really. I recommend Death Note to most people. It's a sexy, dark twisted drama.
