Raymond uses some unique samples in his music. One that sticks out is on the song A Fete Worse Than Death from Genuine American Monster
What ones do you enjoy? What samples would you like to hear in future work?

The samples on "the only good ones a dead one" are pretty cool.

One of my favorite things about pig has always been his classical sampling. Just about every cd he has seems to have some really good classical sampling.

The samples in Painaic are Aileen Wournos. Is the song about her? By the way, I thought that Raymond Watts played the orchestrated parts himself, rather than sampling it.

i really have no idea if he plays them or samples them really. I know some of them have to be played. but they are usually clasical songs and not his own design. And I know for instance praise the lard was done almost exclusively in a studio so there isn't much room for an orchestra if you know what I mean. But i really have no idea.

I think that he plays them himself, but I agree with you, he doesn't compose those parts, because they sound too familiar. As for the confliction between the studio and the orchestra fitting in it, there's many solutions to that: (1) He could record the orchestrated parts elsewhere, and then edit them into his songs. (2) He could program his keyboard to play certain instruments. A lot of bands that sound orchestrated actually don't use realy orchestrated instruments. (3) The studio's really fucking big. (4) The orchestra's really fucking small.

I always kinda imagined him having a lot of old classical records, a nice sampler and a keyboard. That would do it i think.

In general I think he samples the stuff. The violins in Find It Fuck It Forget It as easily recognisable as Murrgossy (sic) or Grieg, I forget exactly which. And in interviews he's lambasted other artists for only ever sampling bits out of movies, when they could be sampling anything they like (ie. classical music with no copyright holder - heh).
I don't suppose anyone knows where that awesome, kind of disjointed classical sample in The Book Of Tequila came from? I love that part.

Kind of sounds more like one of those militia-types to me. Just the way he goes on about arming yourself. Sort of like those Michigan militia guys from Bowling for Columbine.

Actually, it would be a Republican group, because of the emphasis on religion and the right to bear arms. Democratics generally are pro-gun control and don't use religion as a guidebook.
