Do you or anyone that you know buy into this bullshit(or even know what Intelligent Design is)? My AP biology teacher showed the class a few videos about it and it is absolute garbage.

No, and yes I know what it is. It's creationism being trotted out again, faux-secular style. I saw a news ting on it a while back, about a school in Tennessee (I think) that offered it as an alternative to evolution. Stupid.

intelligent design is a very good reason to drop out of school. that is what it is. I swear, if i ever had a science teacher try to through that bullshit at me i would have punched the fucker. seriously that is just wrong. evolution is technically called a scientific theory, intelligent design is technically called crap on a scientific platter. just to clear up any confusion. science class teaches intelligent design Intelligent design = creationism creationism = christianity christianity = religion therefore science = religion wait, i'm confussed, something isn't right anymore.

Religion, in any mask, should NEVER be taught in public schools.

Unless it's in a subject called 'Divinity' or 'Theology', or something. And they should learn about many religions, not just one.

True. But it should be given to students as information. Much like the Greek/Roman mythology.

That's all religion is, isn't it? Myth.

For the most part, but try telling that to the worshipers.

the diference between religion and mythology is that people think religion is truth and people used to think mythology is truth, that is the only difference

And in all honesty, it shouldn't be taught in Public schools (except on a college level) until it's been proven to be a myth. But the problem is, Christianity has no more credibility than any of the myths. Talking snakes, unicorns, talking flaming bushes, everything being created in 6 days, etc. All of that is just as silly as saying Zeus throwing lightning bolts is an explanation for lightning.

Yes, true, but people still cling to it tenaciously like it is fact. When we can disprove it, then I could see it being taught as an "ancient religion". As is, it's as harmful as Scientology. (If anyone here is a Scientologist, HA HA! You're a MORON! Go wear your fucking aluminum foil hat you nut!)

i have no problem with people teaching intelligent design in school. i have a problem with them teaching it in science class. that is the big thing. honestly i religion class would have been a nice addition, being as how i grew up not a religios person it would be very informative.

But the only basis for ID is a bunch of distorted facts and wrong conclusions, so once you admit that it isn't science, it serves no purpose. It's too vague to be considered a religion on its own, so it doesn't even belong in a theology class.
