Saw earlier tonight that TMNT is getting another theatrical outing -- a reboot courtesy of Michael Bay. It get worse: An "extraterrestrial" origin is involved. And somehow, someone involved with the original TMNT (not sure if comic or first animated series) is also involved to give it authenticity. I couldn't bother looking for more information, as my brain started screaming once the words "Michael Bay" registered.

When I heard that Michael Bay was doing it, I tried to remain optimistic... But then I read that he is totally changing to plot, I just keep chanting "OH GOD....." in the fetal position. Maybe the thought was to make it more like the anime? I am breathing into a bag until further notice. I keep reminding myself, at least it's not Tim Burton with Johnny Depp as Casey Jones. *shudder*

So they're not teenagers anymore, and they're not mutants. If people want to make bad movies, then they should at least do so using new ideas, instead of ruining old ones... but I'm still morbidly curious to see what Michael Bay will do with this.
