I would like to see Raymond do a cover of a Doors song. It would be even more interesting and entertaining to see live.

Alice Cooper - Cold Ethyl (fits into Raymond's style of lyrics perfectly) Black Sabbath - The Wizard Joy Division - Day of the Lords

Nine Inch Nails already did a cover of Dead Souls, though, so it would seem kind of redundant for another Industrial musician to cover it.

Nine Inch Nails already did a cover of Dead Souls, though, so it would seem kind of redundant for another Industrial musician to cover it. Some people who listen to NIN do not listen to Pig. And vice versa. But some people listen to both. Making a statement, such as yours, indicates that NIN and Pig sound (very) alike. And such 'industrial' bands all sound alike(as it is the so-called genre, so they must produce the same sound. right? ) As a fan of both bands, for the life of me, I will argue against that. As NIN did do a cover of Dead Souls... it does not sound very close to its original. As do most covers. More often than not, the lyrics are the only things that stay the same when being covered by a talented artist/band. And more often than not, the reason for covering the song is the fact that the artist/band enjoys that particular tune and wants to reproduce it into something that they, themselves would enjoy much more without butchering the single. Now take that into consideration and apply it to the potential greatness of an already great song that raymond could produce. Dead Souls is a great song and I, personally, would like to enjoy this as a cover done by ray watts. on another note, my post was stated in the fact that this thread was on the topic. now maybe you were only stating (the obvious) which makes this current post useless to some and comical to others.

Agreed. Although Ray was in inspiration of Trent Rezonor's, their sound is completely different. And thusly I might add, I wouldn't even consider Pig industrial music. His overtones are as varied as country, blues, and musical. Let's not forget the orchestration he does in a lot of his music. Raymond has his own sound completely, and if he were to do a cover of a song that someone else already did, then I would automatically assume its going to sound like nothing we've ever heard before.

Part of what makes a good cover good is the reinterpretation of the song by the cover artist. Then again, that's also what makes a bad cover bad, too.
I'm sure that Ray's interpretation of Dead Souls would be different from Trent's. Just listen to Ray's cover of Head Like a Hole and compare to the original. Repeat as necessary.
Oh, and since I never posted a suggestion in this thread, my vote goes for a cover of Burning Love or Suspicious Minds. I think Pig covers of Elvis would kill. But then why stop there, maybe a whole Pig album of Elvis covers... Sorry, got carried away there.

On that note, Manson's version of "tainted love" sucks. Pig should redo it.

I'm certainly not saying all Industrial groups sound the same, but NIN did a perfect cover of Dead Souls, I just have trouble envisioning what it would sound like if Pig did it. Besides, Dead Souls doesn't seem like Pig's style. Marilyn Manson's Tainted Love was okay, but Skinny Puppy did a cover that was fucking awesome. I would like to see Pig do a cover of that, too.

I don't know what album it's on, but I downloaded it from the old version of Kazaa (Kazaa Lite). It's not fake, either, because it definetly has Ogre's vocals on it.

I have just listened the QUEEN - live At the bowl !! when I heard the title [glow=red,2,300]GET DOWN MAKE LOVE[/glow], I said myself that it was [glow=red,2,300]THE[/glow] next cover for PIG !
All in this song is done for PIG ! the Raymond's voice would go perfectly above! the strange part in the middle make a divine break for PIG !
Listen to this song and say to me what you think ! I am persuaded that would be one of best the cover never carried out

Interesting idea... But the only problem is, that I don't think the words "make love" have ever, or will ever appear in Raymond Watt's repitoire. Unless you change "make love" to "Fuck her brains out."
