Some tracks from load and reload are good... I guess I'm still peeved from St. Anger. I was out on Nantucket Island for the summer (and no communication as far as TV or radio) so when I saw the (then) new album, I assumed it would be... I dunno, angry? Well, when I heard it, I certainly was.

thats why i say they hit a sweat spot. but it's okay, a lot of bands do that. make some okay cd's then make some really good ones, then get off track. it really happens a lot.

Sweat or Sweet? Big difference between the two. One you aim for, the other... smells...

They've lost touch with who they really are. The band that made Sandman and One has lost their muse as well as their edge. Their speed metal sound has slowed almost to a grinding hault.

They're supposed to come out with some truck-racing game with psycho graphics in the distant future... Its sad to know that they're touching all their redneck fans.

Their speed metal sound has slowed almost to a grinding hault. or they just changed. that does happen to everyone. they are after all a lot older, if you looke at old kmfdm it is drastically different from new stuff, that doesn't mean kmfdm lost touch with who they are. no good band is going to do the same thing to the ground. if they did they would have sold out. seriously if metallica still sounded just like they did when they made the most record sales wouldn't that mean they sold out. instead they wrote music they liked, and alienated there fans. good for them. that doesn't mean i like st. anger. i'm just saying.

At least KMFDM still keeps hold of some of their old roots. Metallica tore them all out.

KMFDM WTYKD sounds nothing like WWIII.... WTYKD sounds a tad advant guarde... However, KMFDM has kept an origional sound and a great fanbase for 21 years (unless metallica) despite their changes in sound. Although, if KMFDM were to go back to that old sound, I doubt that there would be too many complaints... I like that album...

They've still kept their political charge. That, and you can still tell they're doing this to have fun. The slight hints of facetious egomania proves that they may not keep the sound, but they keep the ideals. That's MUCH more then what we can say for Metallica.

So KMFDM has, at least, kept true to what they once where. The sound changes, but message is still there. That's one of the main reasons I love them so much. They took a form and have kept it for over 21 years.

Yep! They stuck with the "We will NEVER make a music vid" then switched it up and did one. Their first one was One.

That, and it's said that Cliff was the one who was Majorly against the MTV movment. Once he died, there really was no backbone for them.

*sigh* You know, I've been thinking. There's a lot of great artists that are basically going extinct without any knowledge or recognition BECAUSE they aren't money-grubbing whores. Raymond Watts, being one of them... I mean, he may like money, but he's not going to sign to a label to control his music for the sake of lots of money. Point is, I would like to start a cover band or something in acknowledgement of these great artists.... Maybe I'm over my head, but I don't want great music to die.

Very true. I'm sure thanks to KMFDM and PIG radio, many souls get corrupted every day. And that brings a tear to my eye.

Yep. Maybe we should start a "Have you heard of this band?" Thread. Post the band's name, and a little about them.
