No idea about the quote. I refuse to listen to the new CD. I liked Skold until he went to Manson... Because not only did he sell out, but they have yet to produce a good CD. After posting this I found out that Skold LEFT Manson. Plus I've been receiving the Kommunications about some exciting news.... Anybody thinking what I'm thinking? Has he now ? He was there on the last Manson tour (2 months ago) & the bass player was ex-Gary Numan/Sulphur (Rob Haliday). A return to the fold for Skold, perhaps ? Means more MDFMK on the (to be announced) tour I guess ? What next, a cheezy Esh joining up ? I dirty little Ohgr, perhaps ? Wonders will never cease methinks

I would support this change. I doubt Ray or Nick would be allowed back in the band, due to bad blood. However, if Skold returned, that would provide more vocals (other than five layers of Lucia's voice) and some kickass bass additives.

I heard the same thing about skold. Apparently Twiggy is back in manson. Who knew. And I think we'd all like to see some more variety in kmfdm stuff. But a new mdfmk release would be really neat too. At least something a bit different to listen to.

I LOOOOOOVED MDFMK. All that we need now is an announcement.

Delayed reactions, FTW! Hmm... I'd probably have to say "Preach/Pervert", since that was song that got me into both KMFDM and Pig. "Pity for the Pious" and "Anarchy" are up there, too. So you dig Raymond and Skold's vox? I enjoyed the KMFDM/PIG sound of Raymond's work on Attak and WW3 a lot, especially live. Have you heard any of Skold's other work?Yeah, I always did have a bit of a soft spot for Skold, probably because he's played with so many bands I'm into (KMFDM, Manson, ohGr). I really liked his Dead God EP as well.

New theory: The "News" for KMFDM could be that they relocated to Hamburg, Germany. Their myspace profile now says that this is their location... It did used to say that they lived in Seattle... so maybe this is their 'amazing news."
...If this is it, my head is beating against a wall.

I don't know anything about any amazing news. But I do know sascha moved to hamburg. They've been talking about it for a while. Said that after tohubabohu was done instead of going on tour they were moving. He also said something about taking a break from kmfdm for a bit. Don't know if that meant a month two move or a few years to get really settled in.

That's sad/annoying. Very very sad/annoying. We're supposed to get a kommunication email tomorrow or Friday in regard to some news (since it's KMFDM's 24 (or 6th) birthday. I was hoping it was more news.

Well, the news is out. KMFDM is releasing every single in creation until 2010, when they will put out a new single. The first one is the Kickin' Ass.... And it's $12... Two songs for $12..... Am I the only fan that feels a tad ripped off here? And the sad part is, part of me still really wants to buy it.

I do feek ripped off as it also costs another $1,000.000 dollars to have each one shipped to the uk. However, as I am a (sad) collector, I MUST Have them all !!!!

Meh. Can't say KMFDM has had my attention lately. I never even picked up that recent nonsensically named album.

Yeah, I haven't bought their latest album either. A friend of mine got it, so I did listen to it a few times, but it sounds... well, not KMFDM... It kinda sounds goth-goth. Like really bad. Which is probably why it got so many good reviews.

Its hard to get a good review online personalized for you these days because from what I see the majority of actual reviews on any album released are positive ones and the ones that don't enjoy it aren't constructive or informative. Basically you have to download it or somehow know someone that has the same general views on a genere/sub genere/or band.

Yeah, but we all know what happens when Sasha K reads ANY form of criticism... You be e-smited and his legion of teenage KMFDM fans come after you.... even though you've been a fan for 20+ years.

You make a good point about the current KMFDM fan base... I got into Ministry then to NIN to Manson and Type O at the same time which then led me to find KMFDM and PIG. They all had something going for them that the other bands didn't. Each was alike enough to be my taste and different enough not to get old after hearing a lot of each of the other bands.
Now KMFDM promotes somewhat better than most of those bands. KMFDM is a band but also so small business... I'm not against that as I'm actually pro-free market/small business/making a buck without much taxation. Sales and marketing comes down to numbers and calculations. It seems as though especially with the remix cd thats what we got. Blah Blah I'm ranting now...

Yeah, I guess I'm just bitter that they Tohouvabohu (or however the fuck it's spelled) just sucked. I got a listen to the remix, and it is a bit better, but I still can't help but call it a goth album.

Has anyone seen the filem 'Lost in Translation' ? I haven't so it probably explains why the thread name 'What is your favourite KMFDM song' translates across the Atlantic to mean something else. Just wanted to use this symbol.

For the record though I feel Skold joined Manson to sabotage him. It's the only rational explanation for the last couple Manson albums.

Tim Skold went to Manson for more money. That's no secret.... And then it bit him in the ass. He probably makes close to the same amount of money now.

XD no now he has to do soundtrack work for a video game with Jack Black in it for money! Pogo's lucky he jumped ship from Manson, it can't end well and knowing Manson he's gonna take down everyone he can with him.

Poor Tim... even if he did reach the commercial success he no doubt hopes for, he'd forever be labeled as an "ex-Manson" member.

I like what Skold brought to KMFDM musically - can't comment on what he brought to Marilyn Manson, because it's difficult to discern where the Manson stops and the Skold begins - , but not lyrically. Songs like "Save Me" are an example of that whiny bullshit.

Songs like "Save Me" are an example of that whiny bullshit. Well except for Eat Me Drink Me. Tim certainly gave himself alot of opportunities to show off on that album. I wasn't happy when Tim ran off for cash but I suppose he got what he deserved in the end. For awhile there he was Manson's right hand man. After Manson's little suicidal breakdown he says it was Tim who convinced him to write songs about how he felt. It seemed like they were best friends. Then of course Jeordie reentered the picture and Tim got tossed aside. I doubt he was very pleased about that.
