How are the rarity levels of the albums ranked? What factors are considered when they're ranked? Just curious

I know not of such ranking. Is this something that's actually been recorded?

Thats a real good question and even though my calculations of PIG related items isn't a science I believe my calculations are pretty accurate overall.
KMFDM... KMFDM - Kickin' Ass LP (500 made) = 9 KMFDM - Nihil cd (10s of thousands made out of print) = 6 KMFDM - WW3 cd (10s of thousands made recently) = 1
Kickin' Ass isn't a 10 because it can be found on ebay a few times a year. To me something isn't a 10 unless its just under impossible to find
PIG... PIG - Hello Hooray (LP single that I have 2 of which makes it more rare) = 9 PIG - Wrecked (out of print getting more rare yearly) = 7 PIG - Pigmata (available on almost any big cd site) = 1
Major Factors Supply VS Demand - Usually the more rare it is the higher demand per units available. Thats how the Shit For Brains cd single goes for up around $80! Availability - If you can find a cd in many stores online and in person its not rare. The more searches and time you have to spend searching online the more rare it is. Imports - Many of the rare KMFDM and PIG items are imports for us in the states. Imports are automatically more rare as they are more widely spread worldwide.
Thanks for starting this thread, after years of collecting these items I'll be re-evaluating the rarity of all items.

I'd accept those rankings.

Ohh yeah and one thing I rarely factor is how likely is the average KMFDM & or PIG fan going to be willing to get rid of this cd or lp? To me the odds are horrible on all of the more rare items.

Awesome. Thanks for clearing it up. I just had a discussion the other day with a buddy of mine on the rarity levels of things on this site, and he asked how they were ranked.
Good work =]

Aside from a suddenly developed distaste for the music, I can't imagine most fans giving up their rare shit...

I know for fact that I'm not the only one protecting rare items from destruction so there are a few copies of every rare item out there in the hands of acceptable care givers. As time goes on these items will become harder to come by and even antiques you could say. This site in the past, present and future will be an online museum about the work of Raymond Watts. Eventually more people will see the greatness of his work and all of us will have a hand in helping that happen.

This year its been hard to find rare PIG items on ebay. I got some rare PIG interviews from Japanese magazines that I've never found online before that I'll scan someday but other than that its all things that are easy to find.
