The Hit Parade is known by Raymond Watts fans least enjoyable, and least popular all of his works. None of us know anyone that knows anyone that enjoys The Hit Parade. As you can see in this picture live there was atleast one person in the crowd...
They did have someone promoting their work...
How humiliating a Promo Photo? Ray looks happy to get payed for his work though.
Ray did get some action from being in the band...
Lastly the one of the only pictures ever of Raymond wearing all light clothing.
I would like to know how many tour dates they had and where if anyone finds that info.

I'm assuming that when you say there's at least one person in the crowd, you're referring to the arm at the bottom left of the picture ? I understood the gig was at a prosthetic limb factory ??

The girl Raymond has his arm around in the one pic is none other than Anna Wildsmith, who worked with The Hit Parade also. Ray's brother Mike also recorded with them a bit. It's a shame such collaborations didn't produce better material.
Raymond himself isn't fond of the material. Discussing The Hit Parade: "It is TOTAL pop music. It's a friend of mine - he works for a PR firm and he's really busy - but he's had this long line of pop songs about gurls and bust- ups and stuff like that. He writes these songs and he has a record deal but he doesn't have time to do them and I need to earn money, so he comes in and sings the songs to me and I go off...I mean it's so HORRIBLE. And I kind of produce it and get in session musicians and mix it and send tapes to the record companies. They've released lots of things, like 3 CD's. I just produce them. I just come in and say "shall we go home now?" It's just STUFF, you know."

I knew that I wasn't the only one that recognized Ms Anna Wildsmith in that picture. Seeing as her music is on the total opposite of the music spectrum as The Hit Parade I would like her opinion of it as well. Its looks like she was providing good moral support at that point.

See you don't hate The Parade as much as you think. Eventually you'll be able to dance to it.

I don't hate the people. You'll have to shackle me to a chair to get me to listen to that again.

I will freely admit to chair shackling..... True. I might like the whole restraining thing... but the music, I'll still screech like a harpy.

I finally realized, why, after all this time, that pic with Raymond smiling directly at the camera bothers me... I have a couple of cousins who look like that. *gets really confused and starts wondering if she's not somehow subliminally contemplating incest*

Spent the first half of my life in a state bordering the Gulf Coast, have spent the second half of it in a backwater area of the South (although I'm far enough north that DC is within about a day's drive). Amusingly enough, the family I keep up with live in southern Mexico, so I guess you could say I am from the deep, deep South NP

Out of curiosity and boredom, last week I contrived to show my mother some of the official publicity stills from theswining.com (managed to use Rock Star: Supernova as a pretext, long story). Her first response to Raymomd was to agree that he is a very good looking -- nay, pretty -- man. Her second was to mention just how strongly he resembles her side of the femily. Her third was to come up with the name of someone on her side who looks like him (have never met most of her side of the family... it's huge... ). So it's official: I have a relative who looks like Raymond. Or, as I secretly hope, perhaps there's a British branch of her family of which I am not aware that somehow produced Raymond.

Next time I go to visit my relatives, I'll see what happened to my grandparents' photo albums, and if they're still accessible, I'll plunder them in hopes of finding a pic of said relative who looks like Raymond. (Unfortunately, given the situation on that side of the family, those photo albums may not be accessible to me, and may never be accessible again. Long sad story, would rather not tell it.)

I dunno about all that, but when I met Raymond at the Detroit show, the first thing he said to me was: "Well, hello, tally." Mind you, I'm really not all that tall.
