Nice find, the interview section has desired another member for sometime. This site/forum got a link out of it as well which makes sense.
I have an old KMFDM interview from 95 with Raymond in it, and an old PIG interview from 97 to add soon. Keep harassing me to get it online.

[MrDM]: Does your utilization of technology in making music cross over into other aspects of your life? Do you find things such as the internet and e-mail necessary to your everyday existence? [RW]: Ha. No. ------------------------- I love it Not sure if Raymond liked the questions... Some of them seemed pretty obvious...

I spoke to BrianBarcode (One of the members on that) about the interview. He said MrDM wasn't trying to get too personal with Raymond. He was just trying to get some info about these last two albums.

I have a lot of interviews that on "site above" that have asked many of those questions. Yes/No Questions are horrible no matter what they are.

And didn't even get that, load of shite. Tried to be clever and ended up looking a right twat. It's 2006 for fuck's sake do we still need questions about Thirlwell? I think fucking not. Thirlwell is a major influence in Ray's stage performance, and vocal stylings. In fact: A lot of the sexyness RW has now, is owed to him.

I can't help it if it's true. Let me guess: You dislike Foetus?

Whatever man. I don't know what your beef with me is, considering I've never really spoken to you, outside of this one thread. It just seems your panties are in a bunch every time I turn around. I do know one thing though: This is the second time your elitist ass has tried to get me to leave. The first time: You spouted off an attempt to keep this place “pure” and said I didn’t belong. Now, you’re going off about no one liking me. I’m just wondering who pissed in your Cheerios? Because after my previous comment you even took yourself off my friends list on Myspace.

Hmm. A shame we'll likely never see a video compilation.

hey shadaloo, thanks for trying to save this thread. I was also thinking i wanted a video collection. but who doesn't want a video collection. But I thought this was a pretty decent interview, it seemed to be an internet interview or something. But the yes no questions really bugged me. I thought every interviewer knew not to ask yes/no questions. but ohh well. still well worth reading.

He wanted to avoid all the internet rummor bullshit that has been floating around since the 20th Ann. tour of KMFDM and the release of Watts. (Why didn't you show up? Are you and Sascha fighting? Is [insert song here] about [insert name here]?) He did a good job keeping away from that drivel.

ya know, usually i would agree with you, but with all the crazy rumors, i am getting kind of curious. it is like the magazines you see at the checkout line that talk about famous people breaking up with eachother and cheating with eachother. except this is someone i care about. i know it's shallow and stupid, but it would be nice to know if any of the rumors are true. But for the record I thought it was really strange when people started saying stuff when Raymond wasn't on the tour. Considering he isn't on half the tours and it seems like no big deal at all if he isn't on a cd. After all, he isn't a member of kmfdm, just a contributer.

Well, he was having a hard time of it recently, as we all know. I think that may have contributed more to his lack of appearances than anything else.

He was going through rehab and trying to better himself. Honestly, I give him mad props for taking time out to save his life.

Urm, it's mentioned on the interviewer's blog that thanks to the cost of an international call plus the fact that said interviewer had no recording equipment to use for such a call, it woulnd up being a virtual thing... and even better, Ray was dictating his answers, so the fact that he wasn't the one doing the typing may have led to some abbreviated answers. I'm just condensing the blog here, don't shoot the messenger.

haha just a sliver of trivia - the interview being dictated made it about twice as long as it would've been otherwise. "Is that it, really?" "Well, ok then... blurt..."
I think they should go another round.

I do interviews with musicians and it's always difficult to make them asnwer in an interesting way because they listen to similar questions from most of journalists. I was a bit disappointed with answers from MD Clayden (Pitchshifter). Just the same - yes, no, can't tell... Seems Brian did all his best to think out such a number of questions but I think there was too much about music itself. Of course Raymond is a muscian but no one claimed the musican need to me asked about the music only I'm going to dig Raymond soon for Fabryka [Industrial Rock] webzine and I'm wondering how much Raymond will discover...

Well, good luck in selecting your questions. He seems to be a wildcard and you never know exactly what he'll say next, whether it be a short answer to a question or a long tangent.... or something you can't print. If you need assistance with this, I'm sure members of this board are more than happy to help.
I puzzle myself with questions every day: "Why the hell am I so awesome?" and "Will someone just smite that person?"

Lies. One time I was walking back to my dorm and one of my stalkers was walking in front of me. I wanted to hit him so bad, and then on que, a branch on a tree breaks off and hits him square on the head. No damage done, but it was as funny as hell.

Do not ask ANY questions already in these interviews... www.raymondwatts.com/interviews.html No matter how long ago it was asked. Ask about the tour, new material, views of things now, etc...

I work for SCN and helped pen a few of those questions. The majority were Drum Machine's as he's much more knowledgeable than I on this particular band.
Even so, we jointly reviewed our questions, and frankly, I thought we did just fine on our part. I make no apologies on how our work is received.
Did we get the kind of interview we were hoping for? It doesn't always happen. They can be great, shitty, or just alright. At the end of the day, I'm pleased that we were able to do an interview with Raymond, and give people something to chew on, regardless of whether it left a sour taste in anyone's mouth. Raymond has done very few interviews, especially in recent years, and I feel privileged that we were able to get what we did. Period.
We asked what we wanted to know. We didn't have the obsessed fanboy in mind when we decided to interview him or when we were working on the questions. In fact, I kept the opposite in mind.
The Foetus question was mine. Why did I ask it? I wanted to give readers a broader idea of what Raymond has done in his career, and bringing up Foetus is a great way to show some of the influential artists he's associated with - especially when there is a such a close musical tie at various points in each of their work. And yeah, it is 15 year old question. I have to assume that when people read an interview, they DON'T KNOW anything about who we're interviewing.
You guys should start a thread: What questions would you ask Raymond if you had the chance? What kind of interview would you write?
I'd think that'd be a great line of conversation.

Well said, Brian. I still stand behind the fact that the interview would have been great if he hadn't stonewalled many of the questions. The guy's been MIA for how many years? And our only updates came from Jules, Andy, Steve, and the occasional Sascha. Everyone else wasn't saying jack about him.

Nothing but a bunch of wank merchants. You just love to talk shit, don't you? Pull the 'I'm oh so superior' attitude. You remind me of every trendy-goth out there.
