Just did work for Covenant. Swedish Electro/Industrial band. It reminded me of VNV nation a HELL of a lot. The lead singer's pretty cool, and the set was fun. Getting the people out of the venue SUCKED BALLS, though. The 2 members came out after the show and hung out with everyone for some time, then did break down while chatting with people, then took some girls down to the green room to hang out more. Show was over around 1:30, I got out around 4, but most of that was boss and crew hanging out and BSing.

Few weeks ago I got to hang out with Eric Powell and Steve White at a 16volt show. Both peeps are super cool and I found out Steve is a MASSIVE sucker for pies. Eric doesn't say much, but I hear if you know sound he's a chatterbox.

That was their finale. It was odd to see him constantly raising his hand to the sky like he was preaching, or singing to god. Then again, Sweden is very much a Christian Country.

David J from Bauhaus and Love and Rockets was at my club. He sang Bella Lugosi's Dead Not quite as good as Peter Murphy, but still good.

Das Ich was pretty cool live. If you haven't seen them perform, I highly recommend them even if you're not a big fan. They do with the fans and the on stage performance is energetic and bizarre.

Voltaire I think is the only artist who can forget his own lyrics and the fans love him more for it. He played last night and actually had a fan helping him with a song. That and he kept breaking into bouts of Free Bird mid-song.

I dunno, I saw a pretty fantastic video of an Einsturzende Neubauten video where Blixa was reading the lyrics to "Was Ist Ist" off a sheet of paper the whole time, it was pretty adorable. Also, he's be the best karaoke singer, ever.
Voltaire's playing Wild Wild West Con this year... no idea why, but he's fucking Voltaire, he could play Tekkoshocon if he wanted.

I mean steampunk bands come in all genre's of music (you might like The Strand), but I thought goth was Voltaire's schtick. *shrug*

Voltaire is just Voltaire, as far as I know. I mean he has goth followers but I don't see his music anywhere close to Mission UK, Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Love and Rockets, or any of those bands. He's always seemed, to me, like one of those comedians who happen to have musical talent but he just focused on it.

It's a steampunk convention. You should see the BOSS cufflinks that HP bought when he visited. Every girl crazy bout a sharp dressed man.

I demand pictures!
Now back to bands (even if we do have to pay to see them) I'm going to see Emilie Autumn this week. I am a bit nervous about the venue, Mr. Smalls, see it's a renovated church and the sound in there's just awful, I'm not sure how well EA's sometimes-growly lyrics will translate there.

Show was fun, pit was fucking lame. Pansy ass iphone fuck-tards kept whining whenever I bumped into them because it was "ruining" their shots. I really wish I was in a band. I'd demand that anyone pulling out a phone in the middle of the crowd should have it smashed, then the person forced into the middle of the pit.

I had one guy get pissed and tried to shove me when I was moshing. Somehow pushing me caused HIM to FLY into the crowd.
