My tooth is fucked up. It was a wisdom tooth until a fight a while back broke it. Now it's a giant crater in my mouth that hasn't caused me much of any problems. Anyway, it's finally an issue and I need it removed. So I called 6 dentists in my area and all 6 will not even talk to me unless I have insurance. I told them I can come in with cash in hand to pay them and they still refuse. What the fuck is wrong with this picture? I'll tell you what: if I was in Canada or the UK I'd have that shit fixed within a week and I'd be on my way. Now, I gotta call around to 6 more places and find someone who takes cash and can see me earlier then the 27th (the place I used to go to can't see me until then) or isn't out in the middle of nowhere and near-unreachable via the bus system. This is why I am a fan of socialized health care. If it was opt-in only, I'd pay the extra in taxes for that.

Yeah, I too am for socialized healthcare. I do find it odd that I can have an optician look at me without insurance, and you can't find a dentist. I suppose there's booze until you do find something.

I found the perfect idea, actually. I'm going to get a webcam. Grab my lawyer and set up a contract that legally obligates me to fulfill my end of the deal. Then, sell the rights to watch a live feed of me removing that tooth, piece by piece. The more they pay, the better equipment I'm using to remove it.
