I actually have family in DC who I have been planning on visiting for a while now. I'd totally go.

HUZZAH!
So as a (sort of) committee, what day suits people better? Helloweenie or New Years? I vote Helloween, because then we all have an excuse to dress up. We should also consider staying at the same hotel for continued drinkage.
Questions? Suggestions?

I personally like the idea of Halloween rather than New Year's simply because it hopefully won't be as cold, although New Year's is more practical regarding whether people have time off from work or not.... What day *is* Halloween on next year? I keep thinking the 31st is on a Wednesday for some reason, and I'm too lazy to look it up right now... my recommendation is if it's not on a Friday or Saturday is that we bump it to the closest weekend for continued debauchery NP

It's on a SATURDAY! This benefits those who are Monday-Friday workers.
Thanks HP for editing original post with more details. Someone notify the other slackers and inform them of our evil, evil plans? P0x has this new life of debauchery and is very difficult to get a hold of... Unless I send him a txt message.... Which I may.... If I get around to it....

I'll IM P0x as well. He emailed me an amusing site today which was needed. The gears will keep turning on this no matter what.

Maybe if I just keep typing homosexual propaganda about him, he will inevitably come back.
SMALL POX SUCKS THE BIG COCK!
There. That should do it. Someone should also talk to the sexy Miss Mary O. Our favorite band photographer. That babe is so metal.

lol I got put on the list and I haven't even been around lately! I'll try my best to be there though... despite the fact that I hate DC and crowded cities in general, especially on holidays that are just an excuse for people to get drunk and act stupid...
Anyway, yes I will try to make it. It's not like I do anything with my Halloweens these days anyway, hah!

Oh yeh, and my vote is for the weekend before or after Halloween. I say the weekend after. I'll probably be out with my best friend and her son on Halloween this year and next - it's great to have someone with a kid young enough to give you an excuse to go trick or treating hehe. Plus, again, crazy holiday in a big city... it might be a bit calmer if we go before or after. We can still have a Halloween party and if we do it after, and if anyone is interested as a sort of few hour side trip, you can come with me for my annual post Halloween tradition of raiding the clearance racks of all the 75% off Halloween shit...

I can add that if I do go, it will most likely be sans SO; I mentioned this possible get-together to him earlier in the week and he's already trying to get out of it. Ah, well, his loss my annual post Halloween tradition of raiding the clearance racks of all the 75% off Halloween shit... I DO THE EXACT SAME THING. Except at Wal-Mart/Sam's Club, where I'm banned for life.

Right, my husband will also have to go, as I don't drive. Legally. And I will probably have him drive me to D.C. (it's only about 8 hours. same distance as our last honeymoon.) He is a forum member.... just a highly inactive one due to him... you know... working... on stuff.... and me....
But yeah, DC is like an adult playground. It shouldn't be horribly crowded that time of year either. Plus we can go visit places and make fun of shit. Like how the Washington Monument looks like a penis... and stuff.

Speaking of adult playgrounds... is there a sex museum or anything else as ridiculously entertaining (or just plain ridiculous) there in DC that we could hit up and mock for a couple of hours? Hell, even a kids' museum could be entertaining if one is in the proper mindset and the exhibits are sufficiently interactive. And that brings up another question: Will there be sightseeing during this get-together? What exactly will we be doing besides enjoying each others' company (and if Ray-Ray somehow impossibly, magically appears at this gathering... I dare not think on that... )? Just trying to contribute to the conversation here NP

I've never actually toured DC, I've just been to the 9:30 Club and that other club I forgot the name of (saw ohGr & Skinny Puppy there). Should we start picking a hotel and all now? We can see about getting group rates and all rooms together so we can stumble around and bug each other at 4am and so Zer0 and I can have mad monkey love loud enough for all of you guys to hear.

Whoo I am fucking tired! Of course I had to get back on the forum as soon as we got back from DC. I've got some (hopefully awesome - will upload tomorrow) pictures of DC. We got there a bit early and walked around the capital, monuments and gardens and such... you might have even mistaken us for patriotic tourists! God what fun though! I didn't get to make no babies with Nick Cave, but he did play some old songs, including Red Right Hand, which rocked, and he closed with a wonderfully rambuncous Stagger Lee. Now, I have to be in school in 5 hours and I just finished a 5 hour haul back from DC that I have very little memory of, so I think I shall have to sleep now...

You know, no matter what I imagine this get-together may be like, my imagination seems to insist on having it end with a massive orgy. I think I need a new brain.

Nah, we'll probably all get drunk and play Monopoly or something cheesey like that. Oh by the way HP - I thought of you yesterday while I was in DC. I took a picture of the Seatle green project at the National Botanic Gardens for you. I thought of all of you actually. I saw a PIG bus... actually I think it was the P19, but I swear I thought it said PIG at first and I tried to get a picture but I think the little sign changed before I could snap it. We'll see when I get home from school and upload the pix.

Gardens? ? I want to go! My husband and I are fond of greenhouses, gardens, parks, etc... Anything that has more plants and animals than people. And when we're sick of that, I believe there's an underground mall, where we can scare other tourists and some locals. Also, we can flip off the white house and the capitol...

Sounds delightful. Assuming money situations are ok, the boyfriend and I will come. I don't know how keen he'll be on the trip, but I know he'll be far less keen on me traveling alone.

I'm gonna put em up on my webpage and link ya'll so you can see the purdies.

This is going to be quite the trip... I can tell already. I should look for a list of the cheap as free museums. The Smithsonian is free, so is the Museum of the American Indian. A bunch of them are free actually. Will be cool, we can spend all our money on alcohol. Dammit this 2 DC trips are messing me up. I keep wanting to say "we'll spend all our money on ohGr mech" but noooo this is not the ohGr show and this is another year away. Boo!
